Perfect intro to working with sales reps

If you're thinking of selling your cards or gifts to stores on a wholesale basis using sales reps, this ebook is a fantastic place to start your education. Although Kate focuses on cards, she points out that most of the information applies to gifts, which are often sold in the same stores as cards. The ebook answers most of a beginner's questions about sales reps, with lots of tips and information that only a seasoned insider would know after years of working with reps. Part of the book's value lies in Kate pointing out common pitfalls so you know to avoid making mistakes which could harm your reputation and hamper the progress of your business. She also includes many nuts and bolts guidelines, such as how to evaluate your costs, a "rep readiness checklist", things to ask potential reps, and much more. One very helpful section covers the issue of what different tasks or jobs the rep and the artist should do. I really appreciate the respectful attitude toward reps that Kate displays and encourages throughout the entire book.
Disclosure: I'm a new member of the Bay Area Art Licensing Group, which Kate is active in. I don't know her well and have only spoken to her in passing. I bought this ebook, and it's well worth it.

This is the first guide I have successfully found that is straight and to the point with tons of useful tips and pointers, without vague, long winded side stories.

Thanks so much for sharing this info... It has truly inspired me and is an easy to read, straight to the point guide that I would highly recommend to anyone trying to make it in the greeting card industry.

If you are interested in getting your greeting cards or gifts into gift stores (magnets, stationary, etc.), this book is for you!

In this book, you'll get the expert advice of a woman who did this from scratch with her homemade greeting cards (& went national) and learned everything that it takes--and she passes this detailed information to you in such a wonderful detailed style. It is like booking her for a professional consultation, one on one, over the friendly style of sharing a coffee or tea and she tells you everything (good, bad & ugly). You'll learn why you need reps, where are they, how do you find them, when you find them, what do you say?, can you just drop in and show cards yourself to the gift shop owner? If so, how? when? You'll find out the types of reps out there in detail & the good and bad of each depending upon your personal goals & items.

In reality, to book a full no-bars-hold consultation with an industry expert for less than 3 bucks (at least I paid 2.99USD) is clearly a huge bargain. She is out to help other newbies and you can tell she has a heart for it. She could easily pull that "guru" stuff that you see online all the time where they charge hundreds. This is like the price of a cup of coffee.

Anyhow, I really went in with zero knowledge on this (as it is only a future consideration for me) and came out feeling pretty confident at starting up. I do recommend this! She does a great job and you won't feel ripped off.

feeds my soul

The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands also covers this subject. What amazes me most about Americans is that nobody seems to respect anybody else. This book gets back to respect- for self, for spouse, for family. I really like Mike Murdock's books, and I have an ambition to read all of them. They just feed my soul. Burroughs was very much a product of his era, there are elements here that are not politically correct. Having said that, this is a fantastic yarn. ERB had not gone to Africa. He had spent time with the 7th Cav, in Arizona, and the Tarzan he describes is an English lord who learns first French, then English, rapidly, to communicate with Jane. The traits ERB has for Tarzan are a Victorian filtering of the Apache Scout, as described in Tom Brown Jr's. books, such as Grandfather, and The Vision: The Dramatic True Story of One Man's Search for Enlightenment. This is an entertaining tale. Tarzan is a skilled tracker- Tracking and the Art of Seeing: How to Read Animal Tracks and Sign goes into more detail. Of course there is a treasure. ERB had quite an imagination, and this is still a good read today. I mention other books, by way, because sometimes the most valuable part of a review, for me, on a book I really like, is the mention of similar books. I have found some gems that way. I encourage others to do likewise.

This is not the average book on how to be a good wife. But it is entirely pure biblical wisdom in a superbly written package. Highly recommend this.
