Not a standalone

For those unfamiliar with the Sumeria's Sons series, I highly suggest that you start with book one, "Twin Flames" and keep reading until you reach the latest, "Surrounded by Crimson". No breaks...just keep reading.
Ander has built a Lycan world worthy of a SyFy series! In this newest installment, Tristan and Ushna are awaiting the birth of their "twins" (yes, the main hero is pregnant with all the typical ailments; bloating, waddle-walk, and an unending appetite for food and sex) and have just "adopted" the three children of Tristan's adulterous, now-dead, ex-Twin Flame, Theo.
Ushna has finally convinced Tristan to bond with him and they've no sooner done the deed when they are ripped apart by the evil Daniel (Theo's fake Twin Flame), the Gods/Goddesses that rule their world as well as a pretty nasty group that has spent eons killing everyone they thought was part of the royal family.
They've also discovered that Ushna's Flame, Nikita/Brian, who died when they were all young, was meant to be theirs. Tristan (King of the lycans), Ushna, and Nikita/Brian have been re-born again and again as "the first three of the first three" to lead and their predestined bond never reached fruition because Tristan and his previous incarnations didn't want to come between the Flames of Ushna and Nikita/Brian.
Tristan and his pups soon fall victim to evil-Daniel and, in order to save his life, Nikita must take him to a place between planes...in stasis. Here, the males have to make a decision to let Tristan cease to exist, never to be re-born, or the three must swear fealty to the Goddess Tiamat and become not only immortal and bound to each other for eternity, but also the rulers of her offspring.
Ander's books are filled with a language all their own and it's best to have the Glossary of Gods/Goddesses on hand at all times. Another hint...review the first three books BEFORE you pick up the fourth. It's not a book you'd want to start reading as a stand-alone because it's not. You'll just be lost and confused and that guarantees you'll disregard the book. Believe, me, you'll be missing out!

There are a lot of characters to remember along with the roles they play and I found that I had to re-read the books a few times (no hardship) and each time I learned something new.

Do I recommend the book? Yes, I do! There are a few typos but, I just didn't care! I'll put up with the grammatical errors to be part of Lexi Ander's world.

Brief rundown: this is the 4th book in the series .It picks up from the end of the last. Tristan has agreed to bond to Ushna after the dreams he had were confirmed as a glimpse of his past lives. They go to Georgia to the trial of some traitors so Tristan can reveal who he really is to the counsel. Threats ensue and its close totime for the pups to be born.Tristan just wants to finish up business , get Usna and his tribe and get home and have his babies so he and Ushna can claim ech other better.
Oh wow! Jsut when you think it cant get any better it does. There are lots more revelations, things become more clearer and new intersting developments take place. This is one amazing intriguing series. The characters are so well dne i fell in love with Both Tristan and Ushna and even Nikita from Tristans dreams. The love is so sexy and strong and what we would all wish to have and sesnsual. Did Isay its sexy, hot and sensual? A must read but you really need to read this series in order to get the full impact.

Recommendations: If you like suspense, new worlds, stories of Gods and Goddesses,intrigue, and a love that would do anything to find his mate this is for you.

Surrounded by Crimson picked up immediately where Dreams of the Forgotten ended. You need to read this series in order to best enjoy each book as this is a series of books that are all to be continued endings.

Surrounded by Crimson was more cohesive and not as overwhelming as the previous story. I felt like even though the author continued introducing new things, she finally got down to working with the storyline and characters she had. The new things introduced served to bring everything together. More bits of the plot moved forward and were resolved than in previous novels and I was not left with so many questions or worrying if I missed important details.

The plot is starting to become very tense and feels like things are either at their climax or about to reach that point. Things are more intense and I am on the edge of my seat waiting for what is to come. I need to know what happens next. I need see how things will turn out with the baddies, but more importantly, I need to know that things will be OK for the good guys.

This world continues to be fabulous and fascinating and I can so easily see this being made into an audiobook or movie. It is just so epic that the reader can’t help but imagine these wondrous things in their head. I just hope other readers are as inventive as I have been because I am in love with the way I am picturing these characters and their surroundings.

Again, the author carried through the absolute love and devotion these characters have for each other not only as mates, but as family and friends. I love how this thread has been nothing but perfectly consistent throughout this series. In fact, it gets more developed and more pronounced as the books are issued. Surrounded by Crimson has taken this love to the next level and i cannot wait to see what happens when all the men get back together. I just know their connection will be off the charts HOT because of the love they feel for each other.

Ms. Ander, when will the next book be out? I need it now!!! :)

King James Bible Commentary

This is one of the best one-volume commentaries on the market, especially for those who are in a tradition which exclusively uses the King James Version. Those in this tradition grow weary of those who use an ecclectic text or modern translation as the basis for commentary, while this one uses the KJV and its underlying Greek text as its basis, giving no space to the work of textual critics. The notes are very concise (made more so by the inclusion of the KJV text into the sentence flow of the commentary itself), and are generally very helpful (although it could have been wished that the "introductory" sections had been expanded). The theological position is generally in line with what might be termed "Baptistic." It is consistently conservative, holding to a high view of Scripture, and interacting very little with modern liberal views. Furthermore, it is generally written in an easy-to-understand style. Overall, those who use only the KJV could not find a better one-volume commentary.

Quality commentary!

I have read a number of great Bible commentaries over the past 40 years, but this one is so packed with facts and figures, charts and maps, that I'm sorry I didn't know about it sooner. A different scholar is responsible for each book, and most are from a literal point of view. The format is not verbose, and easily fits into my daily Bible study. A good find!

The 1st Commentary I grab when looking for an explanation

This is just such a great commentary. It is full of useful information and usually hits on just the information I was looking for. It is Biblically sound and I can't recommend it enough. I have plenty of other commentary sets and this one is so convenient being all in one volume. When I go to my library to find answers, most often the first book I will look in is the King James Bible Commentary. It is a wealth of information. If I could only own one commentary book, this would definitely be it! So yes I recommend it.

Peter Baksa has advanced degrees from a Big Ten university and did research and study in the schools of architecture, finance, and law. He sat on the board of a bank that grew from a small-town bank into a multistate, $3 billion juggernaut. After being elected president of a small Illinois symphony, he took it from near bankruptcy to sold-out concerts. He has seen "poor"-working through scholarships, odd jobs for the university, writing and playing original songs with his band, and also dragged himself over to the brighter side of life, closing his first real estate deal in time to pay off his student loans as well as provide seed money for his boutique real estate company. When he's not working on his books or speaking professionally, he helps out with such charities as the Make a Wish Foundation, the Starlight Foundation, and Broward's Children Center, raising money and creating interest in these organizations through events that he created and successfully initiated.

A compelling work - a MUST read!

Peter Baksa's The Point of Power validates the law of attraction, the power that our minds have to manifest our thoughts into existence. This work answers questions we ask ourselves in moments of doubt and in moments of glory, rhetorical questions that often do not have a satisfactory answer. The author's unique, philosophical and scientific method unveils the means to achieve our ends. He makes it remarkably simple - "Intend, declare and detach" - Peter's three key words pave the way of our ideals and dreams into reality.

I read it, and it made sense. I live it, and it makes even more sense. This work is a well of inspiration, one sourced in a spring in our own control - the power of our mind. Quantum mechanics, biology, scientific experiments and the author's own life solidify his theory.

Chicago author/philosopher/ life coach Peter Baksa began his desire to share his experience at finding success in the world through the act of weaving science and spiritualism with this book - THE POINT OF POWER - and has followed this primer with follow-up books to encourage readers to take control of our own lives - because we can. It is a combination of concepts and practices form the writings of Tau Te Ching, the Koran, the Bible, the research of Stephen Hawking, Einstein, Planck and the concepts of relativity, quantum physics, the Big Band Theory, The Black Hole concept, and his live-in studies with the Tibetan monks. The result is a fresh look at the universe, the manner in which being began and the innate power with each of h=us to think our way to happiness and success.

`Intend- set an intention think positive thoughts, Declare - state a plan, align your behaviors, and Detach - allow the universe to do its thing.' Baksa focuses on the power that our minds have to manifest thoughts into existence. His book is divided into three parts - Theory, Science, and Application. The best book I have ever read! Life changing!

I have read The Secret and many other motivational/ self-help books that refer to personal evolution and self mastery I got Point of Power as a gift and it was the best motivation aid I have ever had!
This book is perfect for someone who strives to be the best version of themselves. This book has helped me to heal my marriage and fix my financial state. This Point of Power made me realise that I'm totally in charge of my thoughts that produce actions and my destiny. I have found the intend, declare, detach process of living the life I always wanted revolutionary.I enjoyed correlation with quantum physics that explains the scientific explanation to why some people life the live they always wanted.

The book itself is written in a highly intellectual manner and different to books by authors like Tony Robbins or Napoleon Hill. I would deserve it as a describe it as a clear eclecticism of intellectual discourse, quantum physics and life coaching. Highly recommended to the highly intellectual readers.

Great content, lackluster production values

This review is of the book itself, and not the game. The game system is amazing, and the content offered is detailed, in-depth, and copious. I have almost no complaints with how well the game itself is.

I do have major complaints about the production quality of the written material. This book is sloppy, plain and simple. Spelling errors abound; I stopped counting after reaching 5 on a single page. Worse is the recycled material. In the language section, there is a sentence under Khardic languages that appears twice in two different places, word-for-word. There is also repetitive material throughout, but less obvious. Also recycled is artwork. And not just from other source material, but from inside the same book. For example, the artwork for the Priest profession is also appears in the Gun Mage spell list section. They also zoom in and crop full-page artwork which they then recycle in other areas. And the artwork for the races is just plain awful. There is also a lot of confusion on some of the rules that need clarification.

Overall the game is great and a must-have if you want to run it. However, I'd say wait for at least a second printing where the typographical issues can be fixed at the very least.

So far loving this book, taking the miniatures game rules and adapting to an RPG had never been done in my memory on this scale. Chainmail does not count since I don't think it used the base Chainmail rules to the same extent that the base Warmachine/Hordes rules are used for this RPG. The career system is brilliant and the fact that you pick 2 makes what would be a decent list of careers in to a myriad of career combos that opens up a ton of options. The Iron Kingdoms setting is a vibrant as ever and my favorite non-Victorian analogue steam punk setting. I can't recommend this game enough.

Steam and Iron blast back into roleplaying.

I was always interesting in Warmachine and Hordes but never at the money to try them out. After reading through this book I think I might try them out to supplement the role playing. This book has many great rules and streamlined sections to help keep the players moving and not get bogged down referencing tables and graphs so often.

The layout of the fluff and rules are easy to read and are highlighted with great quick reference boxes to hit the main themes of a section for easy look up. There a few nitpicks I have about the book. There are some artworks that are reused a couple times throughout the book which isn't a huge deal if there wasn't so much artwork for the miniatures game that could have been used but wasn't. The other small distraction were the number of typos in book, mostly repeated words, lack of punctuation in sections, and a few misspellings. Nowhere near the amount of seen in other RPG books before but luckily none of them impact the rules.

All and all the book is high quality, full of great fluff that gets even a novice well versed in the world, and solid rules that amp up the play style and make for an exciting fleshed out game experience.
