Do yourself a favor - read this book.

I bought this book expecting it to be the same old, same old entrepreneur book. Not the case at all. Learning from successful entrepreneurs from a wide range of fields opened my eyes to mistakes I have made and didn’t know it, and mistakes I was bound to make had I not read the book. Such a great read I could not put it down. I wish I had been able to read it sooner in life. INSIGHTS is a must read for not only entrepreneurs, but all people in the business world.

Outstanding... This is a fun and insightful look at entrepreneurship from 101 different angles. It's an anthology for seasoned and aspiring entrepreneurs alike. Many of the contributors have written their own books on the subject yet offer new insights here, especially when strung together seamlessly by Mr. LoPresti. I wish I had read this before I launched my own startup, which is no longer in business... I'm looking forward to the hardcopy version since this would make a great gift.

Dr.Livingston Gets It !

As a writer, Dr. Gordon Livingston has that rare gift of taking a complex subject and explaining it to the reader in a way that is easy to understand. Gordon makes you examine the topic from what is good for you and what you need to avoid when entering a relationship based on love. His gentle but confronting style forces you to pause and think about your good, bad and ugly relationships. Love is not easy to find or accept but Dr. Livingston gives you an opportunity to explore for yourself how you could have a healthy loving relation. This book should be read by men and women who desire to love and be loved."How to Love" is a treasure that you need to read and share with your friends and loved ones.

Finding The Right Life Partner & Avoiding The Wrong Ones

How to Love

"How To Love" could just as easily have been titled: "Finding The Right Person To Share Your Life With and Avoiding Those Who Can Cause You A Lot of Unhappiness and Pain." Dr. Livingston,a medical doctor and practicing psychiatrist,uses his many years of experience and counseling to teach us how to dramatically increase our odds of finding the right life partner by identifying dangerous behaviors we should be on the lookout for,then pointing out the many essential virtues we should seek.

His short essays on various topics clearly indicate a professional who has had the benefit of hearing many sad stories and sharing that experience to help keep the reader from becoming yet another statistic. Some of the book's headings include:
*The most dangerous food to eat is wedding cake (not that being married is a problem, but sharing a relationship with the wrong person is)
*The trouble with parents is that by the time they are experienced they are unemployed
*If it weren't for marriage,men and women would have to fight with total strangers
It's hard not to like a guy like this.

Two sections really stuck out for me. One was: "No hell is private". It deals realistically with the problems people face when having to deal with drug abuse and how we can become conflicted by wanting to help,yet not losing ourselves in the process.

Another was Dr. Livingston's section on the virtue of kindness. I wrote a book about kindness being a principal road to happiness("Your Unfinished Life").His section on kindness is the best I've read - and I've read many. How would you like to be in love like this:
" In the presence of one disposed to kindness you will notice an absence of guile,an ability to listen,and a disinclination to compete. If you can reciprocate,you will experience a growing feeling of safety and trust. You may find yourself disclosing things about yourself that you previously have been at pains to conceal: fears and vulnerabilities. The need for protection drops away, as does the requirement to be something other than you are. You experience, paradoxically, a growing satisfaction with yourself combined with a desire to be a better person. You feel that a great burden has been lifted from you. You are,at last, good enough. In fact,the image of yourself that you see reflected in your loved one's eyes may be nearly perfect. You would like this moment to last forever. Imagine that."

Dr. Livingston's book is at once a potential lifesaver and a life maximizer, all thoughtfully and eloquently expressed. It would be hard for any reader not to find the Doctor's words speaking directly to many of her or his own life situations, accompanied by wise and experience-based counsel about the best directions to move our lives in next.

idealistic advice

The formula for this genre is always the same: recognize your parent's errors, address their effects on your behavior, become a wonderful person, marry a wonderful person, and rear wonderful children.
Dr. Livingston's book warns those who are looking for love to avoid people who exhibit personality disorders. Full-blown PDs are rare, however.
My experience is that nearly everyone has a touch of something, usually in only one or two realms of their lives, or exhibited only for particular people- someone might be a swell guy, but has insurmountable anxieties concerning sex. Someone else may be everything you ever wanted, but she exhibits near-borderline behavior when her partner wants to discuss money. Yet another may be a fantastic father, but at work he's passive- aggressive.
To instruct those seeking love that they should avoid anyone who is anxious, depressive, controlling, deceptive, moody, touchy, self-centered, etc..., (and that they must not exhibit these all-too-human traits themselves) is simplistic. The book is sweet and nicely written and it's always fun to read about "those" people, but it only made me wistful that my mate and I are far from perfect.

Contained in this collection are most if not all of Blake's most essential works,including "The Marriage Of Heaven & Hell";the two songs,"Auguries Of Innocence"; etc..In the creative fertility of this great poet came some of the greatest lines ever written in the English language,or any language for that matter.His conjuring of visions perhaps is the first written document of modern poetry,heralding what is to come.

The prophetic Blake of Zoas, Jerusalem , and the other long -poems has always escaped me.

The Blake of the short memorable lyrics , of the 'Songs of Innocence and Experience' reverberates in my mind.

The Blake of proverb always strikes a strong note.

All the radical ideology ,and the fervor of an upturner of worlds , the solitary angry social critic too has not meant that much to me.

But 'Little Lamb who made thee/Dost thou know who made thee?/

and Tyger/Tyger/ Burning bright in the forest of the night/ these fascinate as only real poetry does.

Dewy Blake

'Dewy Blake', the title of this review, is poking fun at the author's over use of the word dew, meaning precipitation and moisture. Truth be told, I found this collection mostly underwhelming, despite Blake's reputation as a first rank poet.

Of the selections I read - I confess that I skim read much of Jerusalem and the last eighty pages of the book - I think I enjoyed King Edward The Third the most as the short play is full of vigorous turns of phrase and lively exchanges as well as the short story Tiriel which had something of the Greek tradition about it.

Overall, however, I struggled to get a grip with Blake's poetising, unmoved and uninterested in the esoteric, theological and surreal imagery of his work and, for me at least, the rather flimsy philosophical underpinnings of his epigrams and life observations.

Yes, Satan can inspire poetic creation, and so can Jesus and the myriad of obscure names of people and places that litter this collection, but if esotericism divorced from natural law wisdom is all that is on offer, I'm happier reading internet poetry on Tumblr!

I accept that this review entirely reflects my own poetic preferences which dislikes surrealism and fiery imagery in favour of sober and elegant linguistic usage but to my credit I read three quarters of the book closely before giving up on Blake's theological mindscapes which I found, well, boring.

It is very early days in my journey with English poetry but I hope I find authors more congenial to my literary tastes than 'the prophet' William Blake.

Three stars.

Perfect Finish

I have been a big fan of this series from pretty much the get go. Each time I start one, I find myself giving a great big sigh of happiness as everything I love about these characters comes rushing back in the first few pages. This installment was no different. I absolutely love Tom and Cooper together and have never had much of an issue with their age difference. They share amazing chemistry and fabulous dialog. Tom is super sexy and sweet, and Cooper is such a character – funny, sexy and sweet all wrapped in one. Their relationship is still going strong and seems to be moving forward with little difficulty, though they are dealing with the added pressure of work and family issues.

Speaking of work issues, Tom has a few to deal with, just as Cooper picks up a contract requiring long hours and dedication. Having been in Cooper’s shoes, Tom is ever the understanding partner. Trouble comes by way of Cooper’s client, who puts the pressure on Cooper to be more than professional. There is a bit of tension surrounding this, and Tom and Coop deal with it the same way they have everything else, with Tom making unintentional mistakes, and Coop waiting him out for him to do things properly. This is one of the things I love about these guys, and they do it consistently throughout this book, as well as the rest of the series.

So, if you’ve read this far, you must love Tom and Coop, as I do. I thoroughly enjoyed this installment and savored every chapter, knowing it was nearing the end of their story. This series has been such an enjoyable and entertaining read, and I’m just not ready to say goodbye. I sure hope we get to see some snippets from them in the future. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a sexy, sweet, funny, feel-good story.

Great ending for the series!

If you've read the first two books this is the perfect ending and you HAVE to get it! The banter between Tom & Cooper is better than in the first two. No surprise this authors characters are funny and quick witted because she is too. Honestly, I can't remember when I've smiled so much!

The first two books I've talked about how Tom is my type but I was in love with Cooper. Well, I still adore him (you'd have to be stupid not to) but Tom made me swoon. Everything about him is perfect IMO. He's even tempered, SO good to Cooper and good to Coopers family. He takes off work unexpectedly to help out, even though he's got trouble at work. And sexy, Jesus......

I don't want to give anything away but the end of this is probably the best ever for the characters, for what it is. I smiled, cried and swooned all at the same time. I could easily see another book but sadly, I have it on good authority that this is the end for Tom & Cooper.

A delightful ending to a great series

I hate when a good series ends but if has to end, then Sense of Place was the perfect ending to a most enjoyable read.

Tom and Cooper are happily living together now and working out the kinks of couplehood. Unlike the previous titles there's a bit more drama in this one with characters that make you want to hit something, or someone, HARD! Cooper is working on a huge project that is about to make his career...provided a over-inflated ego doesn't get popped first. Cooper isn't the only one with drama within work. Tom's is more personal but oh how I loved that outcome!

Why must all good things come to an end? I could have happily kept reading about Tom and Cooper, as the experience all live has to offer them and they progress through life. I guess I need to be satisfied with knowing Tom finally asks Cooper the RIGHT way *Sigh* and the Epilogue *SIGH!!!* Ms. Walker has quite the series here and it needs to be read by every M/M romance reader. Heck, traditional M/F readers should be reading it, too. Two better characters and their story I have yet to encounter.

Really liked it

The plot thickens for the Halle shifters. In this instalment, we follow Heather and Barney in their search for answers in the white shifter mystery. They have to solve the riddle handed by Chloé and Julian but each clue leads to more questions...
This one is darker than previous books but still entertaining. I really liked it.

This series just gets better and better. I'm on a steady diet of bitten off fingernails waiting for the ending of it. Its going to be epic! Lions, and tigers and bears, oh my!! Coyotes, Ocelots, wolves, and ummm, what does the fox say? It says to ty tuned to the next book! This is good stuff
