This book was great

I really liked this book. It was very entertaining and I recommend it for young kids. The only part I didn't like was when all there body's got mixed up. But over all this was an awesome book (especially the part where he turns into a tiger. I am a real cat fan!)

The Review: The characters were amazing and the chance of them meeting like this and falling in love was almost a fairy tale ending and set up. Cherry (Cheryl) was the female character of Oh Cherry Ripe, she disagreed with the way women were viewed in london during this time period. Sky is the man who needed compassion from the starts. Together the two characters create a bang that shake their universe. Claudy Conn threads another love story in ways that make it fun to read.

I would like to point out that while this is Regency accurate, I took dramatic license in order to facilitate the tale. A reviewer pointed out that ladies did not behave this way during the regency period, and I am happy to contradict that view.
Women were always behaving out of character for their times. It is what makes us individuals . It is why we got the vote, it is why we are who we are today. In addition to that general statement, research showed me notable and historical women of the times, running away from home, burning love letters in park square, having children out of wedlock and thus, my heroines usually do something to buck their times. I write to entertain, and always try with great hope to do just that.
A reader wanted to know how I came up with the name Skyler for the hero and it simply was  derived from the name Skylark, which has been used for both men and women in historical England.

Historical romance

I was given this book in return for an honest review. Ok, so normally I'm not a huge fan of historical fiction, however, once I got past my prejudice, I found that this was a well written, entertaining book. Cherry is headstrong, boyish, independant, and modern female. She would have done well in todays society. Her step mother tells her that she has arranged a marriage with a suitable gentleman and Cherry sees red as she wants to marry for love. She runs away, planning on going to her old nanny's for help. On the way, she runs into Sky, he is a well to do young man, who has requested a woman's hand in marriage, having never met her and needing help in caring for his younger siblings. They have an instant chemistry. I think you can tell where this is going. This book is chock full of humor, Cherry is entirely to headstrong for it not to be. Go check it out even if you aren't a huge fan of historical fiction. I enjoyed it.

A good romance, but it could have been more.

Four and half stars, but out of personal preference, not as a reflection of the writer's skill.

A sweet regal romance. Beautifully written, a little on the short side (Oh, Cherry Ripe is only about 70% of the Kindle book; then previews of other books). The main characters aren't necessarily unique, but they are well-developed and true to the time. The side characters are charming and easy to love.

The story centers on two people set to marry. The man, Sky, is marrying out of necessity. The woman, Cherry, is being forced into the marriage by her mother. To avoid the dire situation, she runs away before even asking who her betrothed is. That night, she meets Sky without knowing he is her intended fiance.

It is revealed at the very beginning that Sky and Cherry are engaged to each other. As they fall in love, they lament that they are each promised away to people they have never met. I felt like the author could have taken her readers for a fun ride with a nice twist if she hadn't let the reader know who they were promised to either at the beginning.

Short, Engaging, Historical Read :)

I really enjoyed this historical! :) I normally am a paranormal only girl but occasionally I like to throw in a Highlander or Historical one and helps refresh me for my paranormals again :)

This is a great short story (about a 4 hour read or so?) but very well written and I liked how the story played out.

You've got Cherry who's stepmom basically betroths her to a man she's never met before. Cherry is very much against this as she wants to marry for love and even if she's getting past her marrying years she has money and doesn't want to be forced to commit. When her stepmom tells her this Cherry decides to run away from home. She's going to go her route no matter what her mom says.

Sky is bethrothed to a girl he's never met because he has 4 siblings and 2 of those siblings are still at home and have basically frightened off all their other governesses. Two of the other siblings are at school though the oldest one (16-17?) comes home because he's basically pushing his teachers buttons and is sent home in disgrace.

When Cherry runs away she stumbles across Sky and they share a heated kiss but then she disappears on him. He wants to know more about Cherry but doesn't find out anything about her till later on.

I don't want to say too much because it will spoil the rest of the story but if you're looking for a nice, steamy, romantic historical you should give Oh Cherry Ripe a try.

I really enjoy short stories like this because I get a break from my normal stories AND I can read it in one day... and sometimes that is really nice don't ya think? I have a serious issue with picking up 300 page novels and staying up ALL night to read them and then I'm exhausted the next day so I really do enjoy Novellas :) Give Claudy a chance, you won't be disappointed. :)

A Series of Simple Exercises

This book is printed in China by Science and Technology Press. Compared to other Tai Chi and Chi Kung books, this one has many simple exercises and commentary to understand some of the workings of chi energy. There are charts in the back of the book that link the Dayan Qigong with Acupuncture Meridian points and useful lists of Chinese terminology so that you can perhaps decode other books on the subject. Two color pictures, one on the cover and one inside, show the author demonstrating his craft. There are a lot of useful and interesting notes throughout the book. While many Tai Chi books have this information, this one is fairly complete as a system. I do gather that there are more advanced levels of practice that are beyond this book, but the exercises are simple enough so that you will not hurt yourself (unless you get too creative and push too far beyond what the author says) and you can benefit a lot as well. The author also shares the best times to practice to nourish different aspects of yourself, like 5am to 7am for promoting longevity and 11am to 1pm for nourishing the blood.

I wouldn't recommend trying to learn Da-Yen (Wild Goose) Ch'i Gung (Qigong) without a teacher. There are subtleties that aren't in the books - where you put your weight, for example. But if you're fortunate enough to have been able to learn this extremely powerful Ch'i Gung, this book can be very helpful as a reminder tool when you forget the details of a movement. And the general information is good - one sentence revealed to me why I was having more pain for awhile after I started the practice (shortly all gone). I found my copy in a Chinese bookstore. From the master herself, now passed on. I was lucky enough to visit her in Beijing a couple years before she left us at about 106 in 2002 (records don't go back far enough to be absolutely certain) after an incredibly tough life - still impressive and flexible and sharp as can be!

Diana Baker se crio en Inglaterra hasta la edad de 18 anos, cuando su familia se mudo a Espana y posteriormente a Argentina, donde sus abuelos habian sido misioneros durante mas de 50 anos. Estudio tres anos en la Escuela Biblica de Villa Maria, provincia de Cordoba, Argentina, y alli conocio a su futuro esposo. Como matrimonio se radicaron en la ciudad de Cordoba, donde fueron activos en la iglesia y luego pastorearon una congregacion en aquella ciudad durante 16 anos. Dios los ha bendecido con cuatro hijos. Actualmente, con su esposo, pastorean una iglesia en Malaga, al sur de Espana. ------------------ Diana Baker was raised in England until her family moved to Spain when she was 18 and then went on to Argentina, where her grandparents had been missionaries for over 50 years. She was a resident at a Bible School for three years, where she met her future husband. After settling as a couple in the city of Cordoba they both became active in the church and later pastored a church for 16 years there. They are blessed with four sons. She and her husband currently pastor a church in Malaga, southern Spain.
